This painting was one of the first for a series called organized chaos. The images I used for this painting came from a series of photos based on large cracked rock. It was interesting to me how the weather slowly split the rock into. I feel that this can be applied to every ones lives in that the storms we face can offend split us into two as well. Thus forces to Make a choices between two things that we love.

This painting also came for the Organized Chaos series and is based on the balance in our lives. I notice that often when something is bothering me most likely it is because there is not enough balance. This painting is sightly heavy on one side to show how having things slightly out of whack can make a huge difference.

The image used for this painting was of a small rock that was simply balancing on top of a mound of larger rocks. I found it intersting how it mange to stay their after so many years and storms.

I love rivers in the winter time. The ice semse to form in the most abstract patters that are constatnly change and adding to each other. I knew that this would be amost imposible to show and after struggle with it for a long time I was able to come up with what you seen now. I can honestly say I learned more form this painting than any other one I have ever done. It was challenged I welcomed and feel I contuine to learn from.

Rain storms always leave me wanting to paint. I find so much happens in the world around us when a rain storms hits. Pink leaf was painted during a rain storm in the fall. The rain and wind had caused all of the leafs but one to fall off this tiny little tree. I watched it fight to stay their as i sketched it out this painting. The rain ended and the leaf won the harsh battle.

Spring is a season of new. Everything seems to start over and trying again. I found it to be very true in my neighbors garden. Her flower beds seemed to be a jungle of new life popping up everywhere in such a fast rate. All of this seemed to be so exciting and energetic I wanted to capture that exciting new start in a painting.
